My childhood dentist worked until he was 80 years old! This amazed me as a child growing up in Danvers Massachusetts. I wondered what kept him working for so many years?
As a student at Brandeis University facing the decision of what I’d like to do with my degree in Biology, I considered again the idea of dentistry as a profession. My dentist always seemed so happy at his work. I completed my degree in dental medicine at the University of Connecticut in 1992 and began practicing in Waterbury Connecticut. In 1996 I moved back to Massachusetts to start my own practice in Chelmsford Massachusetts.
Not long after I began practicing, I finally realized why my childhood dentist chose to work as long as he did. Dentistry is a very rewarding profession. I have the opportunity to meet all types of people and get to know something about each and every patient. Every day I work I help someone feel a little better about themselves. It may be cleaning their teeth to maintain good oral health, whitening their teeth for a brighter smile, inserting a crown for a fully functional tooth or relieving dental pain. My patients leave my office smiling and that makes me happy!
